Time Marches On… thoughts a seasons change

It struck me the other day as I was walking…. there is a bridge I visit each time I go to this special place. I have to step onto a certain rock just off the bridge to get this view… but I don’t mind it to get a good picture. It’s interesting to see the changes in the pictures, the last one in the gallery above this text shows what the river looked like before the branch fell in it and it remains there still; waiting to be taken back to the Earth.

Time is passing us by here…. soon the leaves that are so bright and bold today will dull themselves and fall back to the ground. Autumn can be so fleeting, this year it seems especially so,, because we had such a dry summer the leaves changed early and are falling fast…. and then comes winter in New England and those can seem so bleak and long.

I was sort of in a contemplative mood when I wrote that poem… time passes on, even during moments you wish would last forever. The feeling that something must have just happened yesterday, but there’s so much time between that moment and the now…. or when you’re experiencing a beautiful moment and suddenly hours have passed and you think, it couldn’t possibly be over, it has only just begun. Time truly does march on whether you want it to or not. Those moments will pass, the minutes and the years can become a blur.

Choose what you do with your time wisely.
