No Man’s Land

In “No Man’s Land” I found a few moments of quiet solitude. It’s called the Sand Dunes, nestled in a sweeping yet, quiet corner…. it almost seems impossible that its even there. The sand dunes edge the horizon under the trees, with heights and valleys to explore. When you walk the sand swirls around your feet and the wind easily breezes across the desolation and through the sparse vegetation. Even with a few people there, the sound so close to silence, open and vast….

The first time I came here to this place I was listening to a song by a band I’d recently discovered. Music is one of the biggest loves and influences in my life. I listen while I work. I listen in the car. I listen even just hanging around the house (not much of a TV watcher here)…. I had this song in my ear and it’s called No Man’s Land. The music perfectly complimented the emotions and the physical space I was working my way through. It stuck with me, that this place was my “no man’s land.” I can go back there in my mind, and picture that first time. The way it felt. The way my heart felt. Emotional connection is everything to me.

I hope someday, you’ll get to feel it too. šŸ’™
